Artist Peter Liversidge - 12 month Lock-Down Playlist (Part 1 )
Monique writes about the impact of the 'Thank You NHS' Artwork on her practice and shares part 1 of Peter's lockdown playlist
Happy Friday!
I spoke to artist Peter Liversidge a month ago over Instagram Live about his seminal artwork 'Thank You NHS' 2020 which was one of the first public artworks I saw during the pandemic in East London. I saw this while on my way to get PCR tested (3months after falling ill) for COVID 19.
The artwork had a big impact on me because I could appreciate the amount of time it takes to make so many hand painted cardboard signs and fix to an entire park wall -wishing gratitude to Frontline key-workers. It was a relief to see a such a public display of emotion during a time of deep personal isolation and fear.
Peter has kindly shared an extensive playlist of music he has listened to over the last 12 months in the studio - check out the first selection of tracks below (many more to come)
* Amendment - Peter Liversidge's artwork is called 'Sign Paintings for the NHS'
